Vertical garden helps keep energy costs low.
The largest vertical garden in the world grows at a shopping mall in Italy, where an architect has incorporate about 200 different species into a living, breathing work of public art.
The garden helps regulate the temperature in the shopping center near Milan and, by reducing direct sunlight, it helps keep energy consumption low.
The design by Francesco Bollani was built in 2011 and certified as the record holder earlier this year.
