Program offers seeds and help to nearby residents.
An Arlingtonl teacher is making headlines for her efforts to bring together students, residents, workers and volunteers through gardening.

Joan Horwitt and the Arlington County schools have turned portions of a historic farm into an organic garden, and volunteers have even been going around to residents, offering seeds and help. The hope is to encourage more gardening in the nearby neighborhoods.

The program, Lawns 2 Lettuce 4 Lunch, has even dedicated a whole plot to the nearby Arlington Food Assistance Center, according to The Washington Post.
